Our Little Brewery is Growing...
You might have noticed a bit of construction going on down at the brewery lately. We've been busy building more brewery space so that we can make more beer, straight from the mother ship, for you all to drink. We are pretty excited about all the shiny new equipment arriving and cant wait to invite you all in for a celebratory pale!
Creatures Loft
Creatures Loft is a multi room venue offering a cosy lounge bar overlooking the water on fishing boat harbour and a dynamic performance space featuring cabaret style seating and a very intimate stage. In the lounge DJ's spin sexy tunes while the bar tenders dish up sensational wines, classic cocktails and our brewer's selection of great international beers. A supper menu is served through the night with yummy homemade sausage rolls, toasted sandwiches, oysters and a great cheese board.
The performance space is kicking off with a regular schedule of eclectic gigs with a real Little Creatures slant - somewhere you can always expect the unexpected! Head to www.myspace.com/creaturesloft to see what's on or sign up to our hopheads mailing list for regular updates.

We Win!
Little Creatures Pale Ale was awarded Champion Ale at the Australian International Beer Awards in Melbourne on April 19th 2007. This year the awards included entries from 39 countries. This is the second time in our short history that our Pale Ale has received this prestigious award. Little Creatures Bright Ale, Pilsner and Rogers’ Beer also received medals reflecting the quality across our range. Russell Gosling, one of our brewers said “we are very proud of our brewing team who continue to strive to make our beer even better year on year”. Little Creatures Pale Ale can also be enjoyed straight from our unique pintsize bottles – ideal if you want that “little” bit more, with 568mls of flavour packed into every bottle. Cheers!
Little Creatures Pale Ale goes PINT SIZE!!!!!!!
Now available nationally at all good liquor outlets in a 568ml bottle. It's the same great, refreshing Pale Ale - just more of it!!!!
Little Creatures is proud to announce the release of its’ new Bright Ale
Little Creatures “Bright” is a top fermented uniquely new Australian ale. As the name suggests, “Bright” is a filtered beer with a striking golden clarity in the glass. We use 4 luscious malts including Pale, Carapils, Wheat and Vienna. The beer is full flavoured whilst soft and easy on the palate making it very approachable. The alcohol is 4.5% alc/vol. Bitterness is slightly lower than our highly charged Pale Ale and is accentuated enough to balance the smooth, malty character. The hop characteristics in “Bright” is derived from the use of highly aromatic New Zealand B Saaz Flowers as well as varieties from the North West of USA. Clean, distinctive, full-flavoured, smooth and very more-ish!!
Media Reviews
Willie Simpson, The Sydney Morning Herald, June 6, 2006. “As the name suggests, Bright Ale is filtered – it has bags of hop flavour and some luscious malt characters, while the crisp finish will appeal to those looking for a refreshing “sessionable” ale. Germans describe certain beers as having a “Hopfenblume” (hop flower) character and Bright Ale has it in shovelfuls.”
Vic Crossland, The West Australian May 18, 2006. “The ale, strikingly well-balanced with only natural ingredients and no additives, has an aroma evocative of old-fashioned real ale. Berry and citrus fruitiness up-front eases into malty, biscuity flavours as the ale lands light and soft on the palate. The aftertaste, not overlong, has enough hop bite to encourage another bottle.”
Little Creatures Wins Champion Australasian Brewery
Little Creatures was awarded Champion Australasian Brewery at the Australian International Beer Awards (AIBA) in Melbourne on May 11th, 2006. The AIBA is the pre-eminent showcase for premium beer and brewing excellence in the Asia Pacific Region. Each year, an expert panel of judges (made up of industry representatives) gathers in Melbourne and Ballarat to judge beers in a variety of classes. This year they received 974 entries from 130 breweries and 31 countries.
Head Brewer, Simon Bretherton, spoke live from Melbourne. “This is the second time Little Creatures has won Champion Australasian Brewery and we are very proud of our brewing team. Due to the number of outstanding breweries in Australia, this award is especially significant. Brewing good beers and being recognized for it, makes us very proud. We will all be celebrating “a little” this afternoon."
The awards coincide with the launch of a new beer – Little Creatures Bright Ale. Little Creatures Bright Ale is 4.5% alc/vol with beautiful aromatic hop characters and specialty malt flavours that will create a fresh new Australian ale style. The beer is top fermented, filtered (hence ‘bright’), unpasteurised, and golden in colour.
Little Creatures Bright Ale will compliment the outstanding line-up of beers it presently produces – Little Creatures Pale Ale, Little Creatures Pilsner and Rogers’.
All Things Bright and Beautiful
During the month of May the Little Creatures Brewery will roll out its first new product since the Pilsner packaged launch in late 2004. Little Creatures Bright Ale is a 4.5% alc/vol with beautiful aromatic hop characters and specialty malt flavours that will create a fresh new Australian ale style. The beer is top fermented, filtered (hence ‘bright’), unpasteurised, and golden in colour.
The beer will be made available this month in pack and on tap.
Director Howard Cearns says “with the growing consumer interest in a variety of beer styles and in consultation with our trading partners we believe there is the opportunity for the company to provide a full strength, easy drinking Australian ale (as opposed to the standard lager), with the characteristic Little Creatures approach to great flavour and balance on the palate.”
The Bright Ale will be available nationally and will compliment the existing range being Little Creatures Pale Ale, Little Creatures Pilsner, and Rogers’ Beer.
